Andrew (Andy) Hampsten (Columbus (Ohio)7 april 1962) is a former American professional road bicycle racer.

Hampsten built during his career he won a fair in Palmares on. tour of Italy in 1988, a round where he already won a stage in 1985 . In the 1992 tour de France Hampsten won the prestigious stage to Alpe d'Huez. He also won twice the tour of Switzerland and the tour de Romandie, a times.

In addition to his performance in the Giro and the Tour was also a few years an important helper of Hampsten compatriot Greg LeMond and in 1995 he was teammate of five-time tour winner Miguel Indurain.
