Grigori Yakovlevich Löwenfisch (Russian: Григорий Яковлевич Левенфиш), also Levenfisj, (Piotrków Trybunalski (Poland), 7 March 1889 - MoscowFebruary 9,1961) was a Russian chess Grandmaster from Poland.

In 1950 he became a FIDE Grandmaster and he is three times Chess Champion of Leningrad been. He also obtained good results in the Championship of the Soviet Union but he's not become. Yet he was a strong chess player: in 1911 he won a strong tournament in Karlovy Vary and in 1937 , he played a match against Mikhail Botvinnik which ended in a draw.

Löwenfisch also has a number of variations on his name, among other things the Löwenfisch-variant in the Sicilian chess opening : 1. e4 c5 2. Pf3 d6 3. d4 cd 4. Pd4 Pf6 5. Pc3 g6 7. f4
