In 2007, Vaira karting in his debut in the Junior Rotax Max. In 2008 he was champion in the Benelux Karting Series with seven points ahead of the number two Bastian Hummel.Also, he finished third in the Dutch Kart-2-Car Challenge and fourth in the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. In 2009 he moved to the KZ2-karts, where he had a best result of fifth place in the Chrono Winter Cup.
In 2010, Vaira his debut in the formula racing in the Formula BMW Pacific for Motaworld Racing team as a guest driver. This was a preparation for his debut in the formula BMW Europe later in 2010 for Josef Kaufmann Racingteam, where he in addition to Robin Frijns and Petri Suvanto reed. He earned two podium positions on the Hockenheimring and at Monzato finish 17th in the main Championship, he was and as the second rookie behind Carlos Sainz jr. Also, he took part in the last three race weekends of the Formula Abarth for Prema Juniorteam. He won three of the six races in which he participated, which he eventually finished sixth in the Championship.
Vaira made his debut in 2011 in the Formula 3 in the German formula three championship for the team Van Amersfoort Racing, where he in addition to his compatriot Jeroen Mullet and the New Zealander Richie Stanaway reed. With five podium finishes and two pole positions at Oschersleben and Axes , he finished fifth in the Championship, while Stanaway. Also, he took part in the round at Spa-Francorchamps from theBritish formula three championship, which also accounted for the Formula 3 International Trophy, for of Amersfoort, where he earned a fourth place and the fastest lap in the second race. He was first and second guest in a race in the Austrian formula three championship at the Hockenheimring, Hockenheim. He also competed in the Macau Grand Prix for Hitech Racing, in which he was the top rookie in fifth place.
In 2012 took Vaira part in the British formula three championship for the team Fortec Motorsports. With some a best result of fourth places he finished ninth in the Championship. For Fortec he became after Marcel Albers, Tom Coronel , Jos Verstappenand Giedo van der Garde the fifth Dutchman who finished on the podium during the Masters of Formula 3 at Circuit Park Zandvoort. He finished third behind Daniel Juncadellaand Raffaele Marciello. He then took also part in the Macau Grand Prix for the Prema powerteam. He qualified eleventh, finished eighth in the qualifying race, but fell in the feature race after one round already out by accident. This was, it turned out, the last car race of Vaira, since he was himself not good enough according to Formula 1 and because he had not enough budget. 
In the winter of 2012 made Vaira his debut in the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand for the Giles Motorsportteam. In the first race weekend in Invercargill's Teretonga he immediately earned two WINS. He added Later in Taupo , a third victory here. Eventually, he finished second in the Championship with 176 points behind his team-mate Nick Cassidy.
