John Francis Bongiovi (Perth Amboy2 March 1962) is an American singer, composer, musician, best known as the lead singer of the band Bon Jovi. He has also had some roles in Hollywood films and television series.

Bongiovi changed his name to Jon Bon Jovi when his record company recommended him this. He married on 29 april 1989 and has four children.

Jon has recorded two solo albums, Blaze of glory (1990) and Destination anywhere (1997) and sold over 120 million albums with his band Bon Jovi. Especially it's My Lifewas a big hit.

He is committed to many charities, such as Project H.O.M.E., Habitat for Humanity, the Special Olympics, the American Red Cross and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDSFoundation. For his humanitarian work in 2001 he received an honorary doctorate of Humanities the Monmouth University in New Jersey. He has been appointed as the first Ambassador of Habitat for Humanity. He is founder and co-owner of the Philadelphia Soul, a arenafootballteam. All the money that is earned, goes to charities. He is also a member of the White House Council for Community Solutions.
