Lou Diamond Philips (Subic Bay (Philippines), February 17, 1962) is an American actor of Scottish, Spanish, Chineseand Indian descent, Haiwaïaanse .

Philips was born in 1962 on the u.s. naval base Subic Bay in the Philippines. He sat in his high school period on Flour Bluff High School, but he also regularly attended classes at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, a town in Texas. He played many sports at Flour Bluff High School, including footballbaseball and basketball. Philips showed an artistic talent and illustrated the Yearbook of the school. Phil Lambert worked as Assistant Director and instructor at the University of Texas in Arlington, where he studied drama. He Later studied filmacteertechnieken.

In 1986 , he played in his first low-budget film, called Tres passes. During the production of the film, he met Julie Cypher, an Assistant Director. With her he would marry on 17 september 1986 . The couple separated four years later again, after which Cypher a relationship began with the American singer Melissa Etheridge. Later, he married model Kelly Preston (not to be confused with the wife of John Travolta). They had twins, two girls. In 2007, the pair apart. As of August 2007, he has been married to Yvonne Bois Ant.They have a daughter named Indigo Sanara.

In 1987 , he played in the video clip of Michael Jacksons song Liberian Girl. Philips ' big break came when he got a leading role in the film La Bamba from 1987, as the rocker Ritchie Valens. Although that role brought him a lot of positive reviews from critics, it took him a lot of trouble again to get a lead role in a major Hollywood film. In 1988 came the high school drama film Stand and Deliver , in which he played together with Edward James Olmos . This film was recorded a year before La Bamba but came true a year later.For Stand and Deliver , he was nominated for a Golden Globe for best supporting actor.

In 1988 and 1990 , he co-starred with Emilio Estevez and Kiefer Sutherland in the cowboy movies Young Guns and Young Guns IIthe sequel. Philips became friends with Kiefer Sutherland, he may thereby in the first season of 24 in 2002 a small roll as guardian of a secret underground prison got.

After Young Guns he played in Sioux City (1994), Courage Under Fire (1996), the flop Supernova (2000) and in Hollywood Homicide. In 2005, 2006 and 2007, he played in a total of five episodes of the television series the Numb3ers role of agent Ian Edgerton.

On 11 August 2006 Philips was arrested for domestic violence after a conflict with his girlfriend Yvonne Bois Ant. The judge decided that he be kept under supervision for three years.

Phil Lambert plays in 2009 in different movies and also in the TV series Stargate Universe (a spin-off of Stargate SG-1) also for 2010 there are several films on his list.
