Theo Quené ( Oostzaan , July 29, 1930 - June 4 , 2011 ) was a Dutch planner holding several leadership positions in the (semi) government.

Quené studied agronomy at the Wageningen Agricultural University , where he graduated in 1956.

Among other things he held the following positions:

Quené was also president of the Society for the Preservation of Nature , the Prince Bernhard Fund , the Boekmanstichting and the Supervisory Board of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam .

He was appointed a Knight of the Order of the Dutch Lion in 1971 and Grand Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau in 1996. His Alma Mater , the Wageningen Agricultural University, honored him with an honorary doctorate . In 1971 Quené, was not to be appointed as a member of the self-promoted Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences (KNAW).
