Willy Druyts ( Eeklo , April 20 1930 - Antwerp , November 12 2010 ) was a Belgian hammer thrower and shot putter .

Druyts qualified in 1954 for the European Athletics Championships in Bern . However, with a throw of 47.44 m, it is not lost in the finals of the hammer throw. He was thirteen years a member of the Belgian atletiekploeg. He was affiliated with Beerschot Athletics .

After his athletics career Druyts remained committed to the sport, he was noted Vice-President of the Royal Belgian Boxing Association and the Provincial Sports Council Antwerp. He was also one of the initiators of the Antwerp Ten Miles . He was also honorary president of Panathlon . [1] Willy Druyts years was also a member of the Sports Council Geel.

He died from the effects of cancer.

Druyts is the father of singer Natalia .
